Hello and Welcome to Robins Class and The Norman CE Primary School. 

Our first half term is all about getting to know you, your child and you family and welcoming you to our school community. Our half term begins with children attending school on a part time timetable for the first 6 days. This is to provide them with the best possible start to their school lives and providing them with plenty of time to explore and take in the traditions of our school. 

We will focus on learning 'All About Me' where we learn about our bodies, our families, our community and the people that are here to help us as well as explore the changes that our community goes through as the seasons change. We get the opportunity to celebrate harvest festival in school and with our local Church where parent, carers and families can join us. You will begin your more formal reading journey as the children will be invited to take a library book home weekly before taking book banded reading books home in line with our phonics teaching later on in the term. 

During our weekly RE lessons, we are introduced to Tom and Tessa, our Christian Persona dolls, who guide us through the teachings of Christianity. We engage with us all being special and unique by sharing our shoeboxes full of items collected from home that are important to us and enquire into God being a V-I-P. We explore the stories of Creation and The Precious Pearls. We are introduced to collective worship with Celebration assemblies each Friday, where our families can join us, as well as attending singing assemblies. In PE, we will be taught Miss Smith and by a sports coach and will learn how to work together as a team and experience Multi-Sports.
