Values, Vision and Ethos
Securing the strongest foundations for lifelong learning, equipping our children for the future, without limitations and grounded in love.
Our Vision
We believe that every child at The Norman deserves the highest quality of education in order to fulfill their potential. Our mission is to equip children with the core values, knowledge and skills they need to succeed, even beyond life at The Norman. We are committed to promoting excellence for all, providing opportunities, and ensuring children leave The Norman as lifelong learners and outstanding global citizens.
Our Values
Our four key values that underpin all we do at The Norman are:
- Love
- Trust
- Honesty
- Ambition
We have a clear belief that learning will equip our children for their future. We aim to do this by:
- Delivering excellent teaching and learning for all pupils attending our school, that enables them all to make progress and achieve.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment that all children are able to access and thrive in.
- Providing inspiring and exciting opportunities for children, within and beyond the curriculum, that ignites passion and aspiration.
- Ensuring all children are treated with equity and are provided with the support they need as individuals in order to reach their potential.
- Setting and maintaining high expectations of all members of the community, and hold these to account with love and kindness, always keeping our children at the centre of everything we do.
Every child is valued, supported and challenged to achieve their very best outcomes within and outside of the curriculum. We do this by ensuring excellence in all that we do, and ensuring staff are highly trained and equipped to deliver excellent teaching for our pupils.
Children understand the school’s code of conduct of three principle rules:
Be Ready
Be Respectful
Be Safe
Pupils learn mutual respect for one another and develop their understanding of British values such as tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith, which are shared by all staff. Staff provide an exciting and engaging knowledge-based curriculum and pupils should be ready for learning at all times. Pupils are taught to keep themselves and others safe.
